Summary: Dean and Seamus are having twins. Neville has some advice.

Teaching and Learning

“Dean Michael Thomas! You get your arse in here and help me serve this meal! I happen to be six months pregnant with your sons, in case you’ve forgotten.”

“Duty calls, lads. I’ve got to go help Seamus. He’s always tired and emotional since he got pregnant.”

“Well, he is having twins, Dean. I reckon you’d be tired and emotional too if you were growing two new human beings inside your body.”

“You have a point, Nev. How do you do that?”

“Do what?”

“You always seem to know the right things to say to people.”

“It’s called using my head to store something besides quidditch scores.”

“Hey! Less of that, would you? I do try, you know.”

“I know. But put yourself in his place before you start talking. It leads to much less trouble.”

“Neville, are you sure you aren’t female?”

“I’m not a woman, Dean. I’ve just been through it before. My wife taught me well. It was either learn my lesson or get a stinging hex to my bollocks, so I learned.”

The surrounding company guffawed at Neville’s statement, just as Seamus was entering the room.

“While you lot are in here cackling like a bunch of mad hyenas, the food is getting cold.”

“Let me help you with that, Seamus.”

“Thank you, Dean. I made an apple crumble for pudding.”

“That’s my favourite.”

“I know I’ve been difficult to live with lately. You’ve been a good sport through it all, though.”

“Seamus, you’re amazing, y’know that?”

“We’re amazing together.”

“If you two get any sappier, I’ll need a sick bucket.”

“Ron, sometimes it amazes me that you ever got married.”

“Hermione knows I’m not good at that sort of thing. She loves me in spite of it.”

“She must have the patience of a saint, then.”

“Oh, hardly. The make-up sex is worth the fighting.”

“Weasley, must you be so crude? I am pregnant, after all.”

“Just telling the truth.”

“All the same. I’d rather not hear about your sex life. There is a reason I’m not straight.”

“Thank Merlin you’re not. I’d be lost without you.”

“Dean, that’s so sweet. You’re getting a reward tonight.”

“You’ve learnt well, grasshopper.”
