Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction created for fun and no profit has been made.
Written for: hogwarts365 Prompt #130-“I am and will always be ___.”; Amusement; Newspaper Article
Notes: Just a random something inspired by the prompts and a desire to have a femmeslash pairing in here. Harry or Ginny might be a bit out of character here, but I could honestly see them being in this situation and being chummy afterward. If you disagree, leave constructive criticism or make use of your back button with no ill will from me. For all who read this, I hope you enjoy.
Summary: Harry and Ginny are celebrating, but not the way anyone ever expected.
Something to Talk About
Ginevra Weasley Breaks Engagement! Boy-Who-Lived Devastated!
Harry snorted in amusement when he saw the blaring headline of the article in The Daily Prophet.
“What’s so funny, Harry?”
“You’ve reportedly broken my heart and left me devastated.”
“Oh, have I? And what about my heart?”
“They don’t say. To them, I am and always will be their savior. I’m sorry about all this, Gin.”
“Harry, don’t. I was the one to break our engagement.”
“Thank Merlin you did. I love you, but I don’t see how a marriage between us would’ve worked.”
“We were both in denial., but after Pansy kissed me, I couldn’t ignore the facts."
“Neither could I. Gods, Draco kissed me, and I was hard as a rock.”
“I didn’t just hear that.”
“You’re telling me that Pansy didn’t make you wet?”
“Harry! Male and female friends don’t talk about those things.”
“Pansy and Draco have. Besides, I don’t think that rule applies when the two friends have seen each other naked.”
“Your boyfriend is clearly a corrupting influence.”
“And Pansy hasn’t been one on you?”
“That article was greatly exaggerated. We were only half-drunk, and we still had most of our clothes on.”
“Pansy looked like she was having fun. So did you. Why didn’t you ever tell me that you preferred women? I’d have understood.”
“I was engaged to you, Harry. Why didn’t you tell me about you and Draco?”
“I was scared you’d hex me if I did. I didn’t want bat-shaped bogeys for the rest of my life. Draco wouldn’t like it.”
“He is such a drama queen.”
“Speaking of, who was it that reported our broken engagement?”
“What else could I do? They had photos. Rather explicit ones. Pansy would’ve killed me.”
“Your girlfriend does have a wicked temper.”
“I think that’s part of the Slytherin house motto.”
“Well, it’s all right now, yeah? Everything’s as it should be.”
“We’d best get back. Draco’s trying to kill me with his stare.”
“Pansy’s murdering me, too. Tell me again why we decided to go out together to celebrate the end of our engagement?”
“They’re going to talk anyway. We may as well give them something to talk about.”
