hogwarts365 Prompt # 191- “The love of learning, the sequestered nooks, And all the sweet serenity of books” ― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow; Disorientation;Three Broomsticks
Notes: Sequel to Likes. I didn’t intend to write this, but the prompts inspired me.
Summary: Hermione discovers that she really does like kissing Millicent
The two girls kissed softly, just the merest touching of lips at first, as if they were afraid of hurting each other. The kiss then began to deepen, and Hermione felt something warm begin to flutter in her stomach as Millicent traced the other girl’s lips with a delicate touch of her tongue.
Oh, gods…Ron never made me feel like this. Millicent really knows what she’s doing. I feel like I’m going to melt. Thank Merlin she’s holding me, or I might fall over.
“Young ladies! This is a bookshop, not a brothel! If you will kindly take your…amourous activities…elsewhere, it would be highly appreciated. You are spoiling the sweet serenity of this sacred place with your carnal lust.”
Hermione and Millicent separated, both girls looking flushed. Hermione wore an expression of slight disorientation, still lost in the sensations Millicent’s kiss had awakened in her.
“Please do forgive us. My friend has been a loyal patron of this establishment for years. I merely got carried away with my emotions. I was quite inspired by the tale of Lady Chatterley’s Lover, you see. You have my sincerest apologies for any trouble. Please do allow me to purchase the book?” Millicent finished with a sweet smile.
“Of course. To be young and feeling the awakening of first love is a wonderful thing. But perhaps some things are best explored in a less public place, yes?”
“Certainly, sir. I shall attempt to hold myself to a higher standard in future. Come along, Hermione. I feel the need of something cold from the Three Broomsticks. Don’t you?”
“What? Oh yes, of course. A butterbeer would be wonderful. I like extra ginger in mine, but the boys never did.”
“Well then, the boys don’t know what they’re missing. Ginger gives it a lovely touch of heat and tames the sweetness. Otherwise the sweetness can be overwhelming.”
“Yes, quite.”
“Are you okay, Hermione? You’re awfully quiet.”
“I’m fine. You’re given me quite a lot of new things to think about, that’s all.”
“Shall we go, then? Maybe we could have dinner and talk some more? ”
“I think that would be nice.”
“I think you look quite fetching when you blush.”
