hogwarts365 Prompt 201- “Sometimes I wonder if my heart is like a black hole--it's so dense that there's no room for light, but that doesn't mean it can't still suck me in.” ― Jasmine Warga, My Heart and Other Black Holes; Height; Nimbus Racing Broom Company
Notes: A very random piece of writing. I have no idea where this thing came from, but I blame the prompts.
Summary: Draco and Ron discuss black holes. And curry.
“Sometimes I wonder if my heart is like a black hole—it's so dense that there's no room for light, but that doesn't mean it can't still suck me in.”
“You’re quite mad, Malfoy, did you realise?”
“So I’ve been told, Weasley. You aren’t the first to say it to me.”
“And that doesn’t bother you?”
“No. I know I’m not normal. One day, I came to the conclusion that I may as well embrace it.”
“Is that when you first started to talk to me, then? I thought you were right barmy when you talked to me about the height that the new nimbus models get, just out of nowhere. I thought you must be working with the Nimbus Racing Broom Company. ”
“Ha. Don’t I wish? No, I was merely trying to start a civil conversation with you, and we both like to fly, so I assumed it was a safe topic.”
“Malfoy, why do you think your heart is a black hole?”
“It’s just something I think about sometimes, that’s all.”
“You are a very odd duck, Malfoy.”
“And what does it say about you that you’re here flying with me?”
“I reckon I’m odd too, then. But it’s not so bad with the right company.”
“And am I the right company?”
“Well, you’re here. What else matters?”
“You have a point, Weasley. Whoever would’ve thought you’d be one for philosophy?”
“I’m not usually, but I suppose I do have my moments.”
“Sometimes you say something quite profound by accident.”
“Is that supposed to be an insult, Malfoy?”
“What do you think, Weasley?”
“I don’t think it was an insult.”
“You’d be correct about that.”
“Are you hungry? There’s a new place in Diagon Alley. They’re supposed to make excellent curry. And I hear they make a great mango lassi. I know you like those.”
“Is this a date, Weasley?”
“What do you think, Malfoy? Do you want it to be? ”
“I think I’d like for it to be a date. And I really do love a good curry.”
“I’d be okay with it being a date. I suppose your heart isn’t such a black hole after all.”
“I suppose not.”
