Summary: Draco and Harry rescue a cat.
“Please, Harry?”
“No. I refuse. The last thing we need is an animal. You and I are both gone too often because of our jobs. It wouldn’t be fair.”
“You have no heart. Look at her. She’s so cute!”
“She hates me.”
“She doesn’t hate you. She’s just taking a while to warm up to you. If we don’t take her, they’re going to put her down within a month. Do you want that on your conscience?”
Harry groaned. “You don’t play fair, Draco. You know I can’t refuse that.”
Draco smirked triumphantly. “Say yes. You know you want to.”
“I can’t say anything else when you paint me into a corner like that. But my point still stands. It’s not fair for her to be alone so much. What about our jobs?”
“Neither of us needs to work. We’re richer than Midas on his best day.”
“So you want us to quit our jobs and what? Open a rescue shelter for magical animals?”
“You have the best ideas, Harry!”
“Oh for Merlin’s sake, I was kidding! Besides, I don’t think Jezebel would share you. She seems a rather possessive feline.”
“She’ll learn to. We could spend our days cuddling creatures and our nights making love. What could be better than that?”
“Now that I hear it, that doesn’t sound half bad.”
“I knew you’d come round to my side, given the proper incentives.”
“Let’s get Her Majesty home, shall we?”
“I love you, Harry.”
