Notes: This just decided to pop out of my brain. I have no clue as to why. Continuation of my Vampire!Harry series of drabbles, if anyone is still interested.Follows Feeding. Pairing is Harry/Draco.

Summary: McGonagall confronts Harry about his changes.

Changes

“Potter. Have a seat.”

“What is it that you want, Professor McGonagall?”

“I’ve been hearing reports that have left me rather concerned.”

“Oh, really? From whom?”

“Miss Granger and Mister Weasley tell me that you’ve not been spending any time in Gryffindor Tower.”

“How can I? I haven’t felt welcomed there since Severus aided me in awakening.”

“He has been rather closed-mouthed about the whole process. I allowed him back because he allowed access to the memories leading up to the events on the astronomy tower that night.”

“Then you know he is trustworthy. If he keeps secrets, there are reasons for that. Awakening is a private matter.”

“Potter, I only wanted to be certain that you aren’t being hurt in some way that I could’ve prevented.”

Harry snorted. “With all due respect, headmistress, I’ve died three times already. Though appreciated, your concern seems rather laughable at this point. “

McGonagall eyed him with a look that was a mixture of sheepishness, guilt, and consternation.

“It’s clear to see you’ve changed, Harry. Even your speech patterns are different.”

“Severus refused to listen to me unless I spoke properly. It was much more difficult than learning to use a sword, but I did learn it eventually. Draco helped me learn as we were bonding.”

“Yes, Mr. Malfoy. That brings me to the other reason for this meeting. Mr. Nott seems to think you are harming Mr. Malfoy.”

“That’s rubbish. Theodore is jealous. He and Draco were in a relationship prior to the time that Draco was revealed as my mate. I could never hurt Draco. I only hurt myself.”

“What do you mean?”

“Simply that I can’t seem to stay out of trouble, despite the fact that I don’t normally seek it. People seem unwilling to accept the fact that I’m not the Harry Potter they’ve always known. If they can’t accept it, they could well do the courtesy of nosing out of my business. I’ve done my part to save the world. Just let me get on with my existence as I see fit, please.”

“Potter. Vampire or otherwise, you are still a student of this school, and as such, are subject to its rules.”

I have a soft spot for tougher, taking no guff from anyone, Harry. :) And I noticed how he said go on with his existence, not his life. Poor thing. Being The Master Of Death is like being some cosmic yo-yo. Every time you go over, you get snapped right back.

Lovely to know there is a good chance of more of this. :) I'll be watching for it.
