Notes: This is a follow-up/sequel to Kiss It Better, and follows directly after that one. Sequel: St. Mungo's at Last
Summary: Draco is still trying to convince Ron to go to St. Mungo’s.
“Weasley, must you be so crude?”
“Forgive me, Malfoy, but I’m in pain. I lost my head a bit.”
“Let me take you to St. Mungo’s then. The Healers there will do a much better job of fixing you up than I ever could.”
“Does it have to be St. Mungo’s?” Ron whinged.
“Weasley, it’s not so bad. I know you have no great love for hospitals; nor do I. The sooner you go, the sooner you can be out of there and back to your normal life. Let’s go.”
“I won’t,” Ron asserted with a stubborn pout.
“Weasley, I used to think you had a penchant for thick-headed behaviour in Hogwarts. Why did you have to pick now to prove me right?”
“I’m not thick-headed, you prat! I just don’t think we ought to leave. What if Yaxley put a Hurling Hex on my broom?”
“Try again, Weaselbee. I killed Yaxley myself, as you saw. Even if he had hexed our transport from here, the hex would’ve been nullified upon his demise. Why don’t you really want to go to St. Mungo’s? The truth.”
“Hermione will be there. I don’t want to face her, alright? Happy now?”
“What does your girlfriend have to do with whether you get treatment or not?”
“She’s not my girlfriend anymore. That’s what. And I’d rather she didn’t know that I couldn’t look after myself on this mission.”
“Did it ever occur to you that you could request another Healer? If I don’t get you out of here soon, that wounded arse of yours is only going to get worse, and I’d rather not have to train another partner. It took me long enough to adjust to you.”
‘Loyalty from a Malfoy.”
“Hush. Weasley. It’s not loyalty; it’s self-preservation as much as anything. I used to advertise my loyalty, and I don’t believe there’s a single person that I loved that I didn’t betray. Now, let’s get you out of here.”
“Does that mean you love me, Malfoy?”
“Merlin, now I know you’re delirious. We should go.”
“If I go, you have to agree to come to dinner with me. To let me thank you. Please?”
“If I must.”

I love their banters and you do them so well. Ron being a stubborn, not-quite-mature adult who's willing to avoid hi ex even if it cost him his life, and Draco, the clever snake, knowing just the words to use and the buttons to press to make him do his bidding. And when all his greatest and best arguments are exhausted, Ron says "I won't", LOL - and here we go from the beginning. :D
If they end up together, they're going to have the most interesting life ever - if they don't kill each other first, that is! :D
