hogwarts365 Prompt # 160-“Though nobody can go back and make a new beginning... Anyone can start over and make a new ending.” ― Chico Xavier; Aptitude; Supersensory Charm
Notes: This is the third part to this particular Ron/Draco tale, and directly follows Convincing Weasley. This seems to have developed a mind of its own. I hope readers enjoy, but if not, feel free to say so.
Summary: Draco and Ron encounter Hermione in St. Mungo’s
“You’re really going to have dinner with me?” Ron asked.
“Merlin Weasley, did that Burning Dart curse fry your brains as well as your arse? You certainly have a pronounced aptitude for stating the obvious. How you ever became an Auror is beyond my comprehension.“
“Ah, there’s the Malfoy I know and love. For a second, I thought I might’ve been in some parallel universe.”
“Weasley, for Circe’s sake! Must you babble like an idiot?! I have to get you out of here, or Shacklebolt will kill me!"
“I’ll be fine, Malfoy. You don’t need to worry about me.”
“I’m not worried, you moronic prat. I’m simply annoyed.”
“Whatever you say, Malfoy. But you’re right. We need to go. I’m starting to feel like someone has cast a Sepersensory on every inch of my skin. I’ll probably have bruises in some very private places tomorrow.”
“The Healers won’t care, Weasley.”
“I’d still rather you took care of me.”
“Much as I appreciate your sudden confidence in my Healing abilities, I’m afraid I lack the necessary skills. Now, hold still while I Apparate us out of here.”
The pair appeared in St. Mungo’s, where Draco immediately sought help for his partner.
“Can someone please help my—help Weasley? He got hit with a Burning Dart in a rather sensitive area, and he needs seeing to right away.”
“Oh my god, Ron! What happened to you?!” a female voice exclaimed.
“He took a Burning Dart to the arse, Granger.”
Ron groaned, though whether in pain or dismay, Draco found it hard to tell.
“I told you I didn’t want to come here,” he groused.
“We may not be together, Ron, but I’d never want to see you hurt. I know we can’t go back, but couldn’t we at least try to make a new ending?”
“I want a different Healer. I don’t feel comfortable with you seeing me exposed. Not now. Not after—what happened.” Ron stammered to a halt, blushing redder than his hair and shooting a look at Draco.
“You still haven’t told him, have you?”
“Hermione!”
“Told me what?”
“Hermione, don’t!”
“Don’t stop her, Weasley. Things are just starting to get interesting."
