Notes: Here I am again with a random and completely unplanned follow-up fic. Sequel to The Favour.

Summary: Hermione learns that a hungry Harry is a cranky Harry.

Feeding

Harry let out a deep moan as he felt his mate’s fangs sink beneath his flesh. Draco sucked hungrily from the wounds he’d opened in Harry’s neck.

“Harry! You were supposed to meet us in the library to study! Not squander the time acting like a walking buffet to your needy vampire boyfriend.”

Harry’s eyes shot open, darkening to black as he caught sight of one of his supposed best friends.

“He. Is. My. Mate. Not my boyfriend. And you will not refer to him so disrespectfully again. I would think that a witch of your famed intelligence would have more common sense, Hermione. I suggest you leave before I lose my temper and forget myself.”

“It seems to me that you’ve forgotten yourself already, Harry!” Hermione responded huffily. “You used to make time for us! Now it’s all about him, just because you don’t seem to have enough blood to supply both heads at once!”

The pair heard Draco let out a nearly feral hiss. “Granger, you are a fool! Get out of here before I make your blood spill like a waterfall for this insult to my mate!”

“Harry, we miss you! Don’t you see? They’ve brainwashed you.”

“Oh, yes, and you show that so well. Coming here during my private time with my mate, and then proceeding to insult the two of us and our species. Really smart move, Hermione! How much of that did you get from Ron?”

“Mr. Potter? Are you in need of assistance?”

“Severus, Hermione won’t let us feed in peace, and I’m starving!”

“We had a study date in Gryffindor, sir. I was sent to see why Harry didn’t come.”

“I hadn’t fed yet. I didn’t feel it wise to be around to be around my friends without controlling my baser impulses first.”

“That insight is rather astounding coming from you, Potter. As is your abysmal lack of sense, Miss Granger. I would’ve expected better of you.”

“I-I’m sorry.”

“I suggest you leave while Helena Ravenclaw distracts Peeves.”

“Y-Yes sir!”

“So are you coming or going? Or coming and then going? Or coming and staying?” Draco asked Harry.

“Neither. I’m feeding. I get cranky when I’m hungry.”

If harry had cared for his friends at all he could have sent word. I hardly ever agree with hermione but he is being and inconsiderate Arsehole

I agree Harry is being a bit thoughtless here, but he isn't being deliberately inconsiderate in regard to his friends. It's simply that his creature instinct is overriding every other concern at the moment, and he wasn't going to tolerate the insult to his mate.

He is not just a bit thoughtless, but if you want him like that in this universe that is ok. But you need to accept the fact that in this universe Harry is beinng inconsiderate and absolutly puts his own selfish needs and Dracos whining over his friends. He permanently insults Hermiones intelligence, painting her as stupid and putting her down, so that it is a wonder that she even wants to be friends with him anylonger. Exploring this selfish side of his character in a universe is ok - once again - but don´t defend him as being just a "little" thoughtless

Thank you for your feedback. I do appreciate your taking the time to comment. You have several good points, but the thing that you have to keep in mind is that Harry is a vampire. he isn't going to react the same way as he would've if he were still human. Draco is his mate, and they are both still in the process of bonding, so he is going to be sensitive to comments made about Draco. Hermione actually insulted both of them even before Harry said anything, so that's why his and Draco's reactions were so asshole-like. He isn't thinking about anything outside of his mate bond right now because the two of them are still in an adjusting to everything. I agree that Harry was thoughtless here, to a certain extent, but so was Hermione. She should've known better than to insult something that was so important to Harry's survival as his relationship to his mate. That she did that was the reason he acted as he did. Both of them were obviously in the wrong here, and Harry's attitude will be addressed at some point. I don't see him as being an ass permanently, but he's blinkered right now because everything about being a vampire is new to him. Not to mention the fact that he dies to save everyone, so he feels he has the right to be selfish, at least to a certain degree. In any case, I'm grateful that you took the time to read and comment on this.
