Luckily, people don't die, when other people give up on them. :) Just keep on hoping; if she wakes up, tell her that you totally need her alive and well and that she should tell to the Grim Ripper: Not today! How come she's unconscious? Did she hurt herself when she fell? Because people don't usually go under from breaking a hip. If she's an elderly lady, a broken hip usually isn't to be shrugged off and she might be bed-ridden for quite some time, but it's not the kind of thing that would bury you per se. I could be wrong though, but I think her recovery, unless she's under for another injury, should be down to her will to make it. And this is where you can help with a bit of motivation.
