Notes: Just a little something for this week’s prompts. Enjoy!
Summary: Harry wants to give the Slytherins a second chance, including Draco.
Olive Branches
“Draco, I love you, but you are being an idiot.”
“Why do you say that, Pansy?”
“Because it has yet to dawn on you that Harry Potter is just as obsessed with you as you are with him.”
“I’m not obsessed with Potter, Parkinson. I know he’s not obsessed with me.”
“Yes he is, and so are you. You’re both just in denial. Don’t you think it’s time the two of you started over? He seemed keen to give us all second chances. Take advantage of it. That’s the Slytherin thing to do.”
“Since when has doing the Slytherin thing brought us anything but trouble? How could I trust that Potter would want to start over again?”
“Draco, if he can forgive me, he can most assuredly forgive you.”
“But why would he want to?”
“Why don’t you ask him? He’s on his way over here.”
“I can’t.”
“Don’t be stupid. If he extends an olive branch, take it. We’d all be happier for it, I promise you. You’ve been mooning over him for months now. Do something about it.”
“Hush, you daft cow. He’ll hear you,” Draco hissed quietly as Harry drew level with the Slytherin table. “Hello, Potter.”
“Hello, Malfoy.”
“What brings you here?”
“I just wanted to make sure that your wand was working well for you. I never did thank you for letting me use it. If it hadn’t been for that, I never could’ve defeated Voldemort. “
“There’s no need to thank me, Potter. Life without that madman is thanks enough.”
“Could we start over, Malfoy? I’d really like it.”
“I’d like that, Harry. But…why me? We don’t have the best history, you realise.”
“I know that, but man starts over again every day, in spite of all he knows, against all he knows. I don’t see why we couldn’t do the same. If I had just taken your hand when you offered it, maybe things would’ve gone differently for us all.”
“I told him you’d feel that way, Harry but he wouldn’t believe me.”
“Pansy, must you?”
“Yes, I must. Would you like to eat with us, Harry?”
“That would be lovely. Would you mind, Draco?”
“I’d love it.”
