Interesting take. I definitely wish my son watched this rather than silly DanTDM! I'm fairly sure Bernie Sanders was a more honest candidate than Clinton, but his problem is that the politics is the "good ol' chaps' game". He doesn't play by the rules, he doesn't fit easily into any established party programme and it's easy to dismiss him as "a socialist" - which is something that people in America seem to fear and which is utterly laughable to me, having grown up in proper socialism.
I have some regrets that he was not the candidate rather than Clinton, but I doubt that he would be much more successful than Clinton in recruiting the masses necessary for election - in a dirty game that politics totally is, the method and approach are sometimes more important than the solid, good philosophy in the core of what one stands for. I think it would take someone who's able to inspire.
I'll give you an example: our current President was once running about the ex-president trying to get re-elected (and that was an elderly gentleman with a long mileage in politics and diplomacy, he spent years with the UN, etc.) But the current President invented his own campaign method: he went on to try every profession for a day. He was cleaning roads. He was cooking. He was removing trash. And people laughed at him and loved his "I don't give a fuck, I'm your guy, of the people, for the people" more every day. He won, even as a complete underdog. He didn't care about the other candidate, not once did he put him down, he just went and did his thing. In the end we all thought it was kind of cool. :)

I think Bernie knew there was no way the establishment would approve of him as a candidate, but he seems willing to work from inside the system instead of wanting to disrupt and overthrow it the way that Troll wants to. I think that we in the US will learn rrom this experience and (hopefully, please God!) elect a more able candidate in the future who has more of our best interests in mind, instead of just focusing on the economy and profits. I don't think we could've paid Donald Trump enough to work a menial job. He's always had a silver spoon in his mouth, and it baffles me that so many people seem to think he actually cares what happens to us. I wish he did. Maybe the next candidate will, assuming we last that long.
