hogwarts365 Prompt 204- “Love art in yourself, and not yourself in art.” ― Konstantin Stanislavski, My Life In Art, Players, Cherries
Notes: I don’t even know where this came from. If you hate it, feel free to tell me so.
Summary: Harry and Draco meet somewhere Draco never expected.
“Potter! Fancy seeing you here. I didn’t think you were the type to come to this sort of thing.”
“I appreciate art, Malfoy. Particularly when I’m not the subject of the piece.”
“It’s good to know that the saviour of the magical world has some culture after all.”
“Well, everyone knows I live only to please my adoring public. Although you hardly fall into that category, do you?”
“I could see why you’d think that. Especially given how we were in school.”
“You aren’t trying to say that you do adore me? I don’t buy that. You hated me in school, and we’ve barely had a civil conversation. Unless we’re suddenly in some alternate universe, it barely makes sense that you’re here talking to me. Why are you here talking to me? Won’t your fiancée get upset?”
“Did it ever occur to you that we were all just players in a larger game? I held out my hand to you in friendship, but you rejected me.”
“I only rejected you because you reminded me of my spoilt bully of a cousin. And you insulted Ron.”
“I could tell you liked him more than you liked me. I hated that. And he was a Weasley. I had been taught that we were superior to them in every way.”
“Yes, well, you weren’t.”
“I know that now, Potter. Must you remind me what an idiot I was? We’ve all grown up, haven’t we?”
“It’s so refreshing to hear you admit your own shortcomings. Humility becomes you.”
“You’re acting almost Slytherin, Potter.”
“From you, I’ll take that as a compliment. Especially considering that I did almost end up in Slytherin.”
“Really?”
“Yes. Why so surprised? You always did think I got away with too much.”
“Do you like cherries?”
“I do. But what does that have to do with anything?”
“This exhibit is over soon. I thought you might like some ice cream, and I always have cherries on mine.”
“What about Astoria? Won’t she be upset?”
“No, considering that she left me for Pansy. Would you like to go?”
“I accept. Do you like tattoos?”
“I find them fascinating.”
“Wonderful. I think we’ll get on just fine.”
