Summary: Harry and Draco are becoming parents.

Draco looked at Harry lying motionless in their bed, thinking he’d never seen anyone more perfect. Harry looked young in sleep, as if all his cares and worries had been washed away. Draco almost felt mean waking him, but today was a special day, and he knew Harry would want to get an early start.

“Wake up, sleepyhead! Today’s the big day!”

“You’d better have coffee in your hands right now. If you don’t, I can’t guarantee your safety.”

“Harry, you know me better than that! I came prepared.”

“Merlin, I will love you forever. I’ve never seen anything so beautiful.”

“Thank you, I love you, too.”

“I was talking about the coffee.”

“I ought to hex you for that.”

“Why don’t you?”

“I would if I didn’t know exactly how much you adore teasing me.”

“You make the cutest faces when you get annoyed with me. Your nose gets all squinched up and it makes me want to kiss it.”

“I am so not cute! Babies and puppies are cute! Malfoys aren’t.”

“My Malfoy is, whether he wants to admit it or not. Speaking of babies, are you ready for today?”

“I am if you are. I couldn’t imagine doing this on my own. Especially since the only example I had as a father was Lucius Malfoy.”

“The only proper example I had was Arthur Weasley. I don’t count the Dursleys.”

“No one should. It amazes me that you managed to come out of all that relatively undamaged. Not to mention saving the whole world when you were barely an adult.”

“Some things in our lives are inevitable. I was supposed to kill Voldemort. It doesn’t make me a hero. And it doesn’t mean I’ll be a good father. Are we sure we want to do this?”

“You’ll be a wonderful father, Harry. I’m sure we’ll be fine as long as we work together. You can pull me back if I start to be too much of a tyrant.”

“And you can rein me in if I’m too lenient.”

“I’m sure we’ll balance each other.”

“Is the room ready?”

“Everything is as ready as could be.”

“You promise we can do this?”

“Yes. Together.”
