hogwarts365 Prompt 262-Visiting a different town, Impossible, Mystery
Notes: Just a random something inspired by the prompts. I hope readers enjoy.
Summary: Draco finds out something interesting on a stakeout with Harry.
Draco sighed impatiently. Harry eyed him, conveying his exasperation with a pointed glare.
“Shut up, Draco. You’re distracting me.”
“Distracting you from what, may I ask? We’re in this tiny little town in the middle of nowhere. I don’t see why we couldn’t have just tried the wizarding districts.”
“That’s not how this job works, and you know it. Kingsley asked us to come here because our intelligence said this is where Dolohov was.”
“I still say our intelligence was faulty, Potter.”
“And why would you think that?”
“Dolohov was born and raised a Dark wizard. There is no way he’d lower himself to hiding among Muggles.”
“What better place for Dolohov to hide unnoticed than among thoroughly non-magical people? He’d be nearly impossible to trace.”
“I still say it makes more sense that he’s visiting a different town. I trained under Dolhov, and he always said that he’d rather die than give up his magic. Somehow, I don’t think that would’ve changed in the seven years since school.”
“You may be right, Malfoy. But I don’t think your explosive sighing is going to help us solve the mystery of Dolohov’s disappearance.”
“Neither is sitting in the middle of nowhere waiting for Dolohov to wander by. I’m tired of sitting here, Harry.”
“What do you want me to do about it?”
“Entertain me.”
“How do you suggest I do that, O Spoilt One?”
“I am not spoilt, Potter. We could snog. That would pass the time quickly enough.”
“That would be too distracting. We’re supposed to watch for Dolohov, not snog.”
“You want to, admit it.”
“I admit nothing.”
Draco sat back in his seat, smirking in a self-satisfied way. “I knew it. You do want me.”
“You’re deluded, Malfoy.”
“I’m not deluded. You just said that snogging me would be a distraction. That must mean that on some level, you’d find it pleasurable, yes?”
“Snogging anyone at all would be pleasurable for me right now. Ginny left me.”
“She was an idiot to do it, Potter.”
“You think so? What if I said I’d called out your name during sex?”
“I’d ask you to dinner.”
“If I accept, can we get back to work?”
