Summary: Harry and Sirius get ready for a party.
“Sirius…we should go downstairs. Your party starts in half an hour.”
“Do we have to? I’m the guest of honour, and I’m having much more fun up here with you. You look quite striking in a French maid’s costume.”
“I look like a galumphing troll, and you know it. Why did you insist everyone come to your party in disguise? It’s not safe.”
“You’ve been spending too much time with Mad-Eye. He’s got you paranoid.”
“I almost lost you once before. Forgive me if I don’t want to go through that ever again.”
Sirius looked at Harry, his eyes soft. “I’m not going anywhere, Harry. And besides, this place has more protection spells on it than Gringotts has goblins. It’s my birthday, and I want to enjoy a fancy dress party with my friends.”
“And me? Is that all I am to you?”
“You know you’re much more than that.”
“I had better be. I don’t let just anyone talk me into wearing a skimpy little dress.”
“All you’re missing is the feather duster.”
“Don’t push it, Padfoot. I’m not beyond tying you up and spanking you if you’re too bad tonight.”
“That’s kinky, Harry!”
“Get your mindout of the gutter, old man!”
“Old man? Want me to show you just how old I’m not?”
“I’d love that, but unfortunately we don’t have the time right now.”
“Who knew you were such a bloody tease?”
“It’s your own fault for dressing me in this costume.”
“It’s worth it. You’re a vision. I should write poetry about you.”
“Yeah, a bawdy limerick. Helen of Troy, I’m not.”
“You look gorgeous.”
“I’m glad you think so. Ron’s going to laugh himself silly.”
“I just hope Hermione doesn’t try to hex me for taking advantage of you.”
“Sirius, we’ve been through this. We’re both adults. If I want this and you want this, then what others think doesn’t matter.”
“I want you, Harry. What I don’t understand is why you’d want me.”
“You’re handsome, you make me laugh, and I feel safer with you than anyone. Is that enough, or do I need to go on?”
“I love you, Harry."
“I love you, too. Happy Birthday, Sirius Black.”
