Summary: Draco tries to convince Ron to continue seeing him after the wedding.
“I’m not juvenile, Malfoy, I’m injured. You’re the one who decided to smite me with that dangerous chin of yours.”
“I didn’t hear you complaining about it last night. And since when am I Malfoy again?”
“Old habits die hard, I suppose. I really don’t want to argue with you.”
“Are you quite sure you want to forget this happened? I, for one, enjoyed myself.”
“I did too, but I’m not the one getting married in two days. That'd be you.”
“It’s a custom among Pureblood families to have affairs. I don’t see why we couldn’t continue seeing one another after the wedding.”
Ron’s expression was one of distaste. “I don’t think I want to be your dirty little secret.”
“Were you or were you not the one who suggested we not tell Astoria about this? Isn’t it a bit late for taking the moral high ground now?” Draco pointed out.
“You’re right, Draco. But there’s a world of difference between a single one-night stand and an ongoing affair.”
“What difference is there? Aside from quantity, there is none that I can see.”
“Okay, fine then. I don’t share well. I can’t stand the thought of you in Astoria’s arms when we both know you fit better in mine.”
“What of children, Ronald? I’m the last of the Malfoy line. I need to preserve my family legacy.”
“Does that automatically mean sacrificing your happiness? I never took the Malfoys for martyrs.”
“We are not martyrs, Ronald. I just know what needs to be done.”
“That’s why this needs to stay between the two of us. My family would kill me if they knew what I’d done.”
“I can’t forget that it happened, Ronald. More importantly, I won’t.”
“You have to!”
“I’ll do nothing of the kind,”
“Your life would be ruined!”
“I can’t worry about that now.”
“You’re hopeless, Mal—Draco.”
“Look me in the eye and tell me you don’t want me.”
“I can’t do that, and you know it. But you’re getting married. It would be suicide Or worse.”
“I want you, Ronald Weasley. What else matters?”
“You can’t always get what you want, Draco. I’m sorry.”
“I’m sorry, too. We’re good together.”
