Apologies for an imperfect existence

Forgive me for the things I've done.
My intentions were good,
but things turned out wrong.

I pray you learn to see
with clearer eyes,
and stop my pain.

Imperfection is the hallmark
of human beings.
Expectations, I'll have you know
are heavy things.

Rescue me from this skewed reality.

You have a lovely way with words. Your poem reminds me of the Tracy Chapman song "At This Point in my Life". I don't know if you know it. Here are some of the lyrics:
