Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction created for fun and no profit has been made.
Notes: I apologise profusely for the lateness of this post. Real life has (yet again) somewhat curtailed my participation in fandom activities. Please forgive the fact that I’ve used three weeks of prompts in one small story, but needs demanded I do so. I hope readers enjoy this little story as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Summary: Harry and Draco prepare for a party.
“Potter! We have to go! We don’t want to be late for Longbottom’s party.”
“You can call him Neville now, y’know.”
“Old habit. We’ve been seeing each other three years and I still call you Potter half the time.”
“I know. The only time you call me Harry is when we’re making love.”
“It just seems cold to call you Potter when we’re so intimately connected.”
“I remember when you asked me out the first time. You looked at me as if I was going to Petrify you.”
“We went to that film noir festival, and at the end of the night when you kissed me, you tasted like peppermint toads. I felt like the protagonist in one of Pansy’s romance novels.”
“I had to work up the nerve to even try kissing you, given our history.”
“I’m glad you did. I’ve never gone in for ornithomancy, but I could’ve sworn I saw birds flittering around my head when we came up for air.”
“That good, eh?”
“Fishing for compliments is beneath you. You know it was good. I was blushing like an overripe tomato standing outside of Olivanders wand shop. He winked at me through the window after that.”
“He saw us? I always did think he was creepily observant, even at eleven.”
“He’s not a bad fellow, he’s just eccentric. He sent me a bottle of Pinot Noir as thanks for rescuing him from the manor dungeons.”
“That was nice of him.”
“Yes. We really do need to get going, or Longbottom’s going to wonder where we are. The party starts in twenty minutes.”
“Twenty minutes? That’s plenty of time. Especially if we decide to Apparate.”
“Potter, I refuse to do that again. The last time we Apparated to a social function, we still smelled of what we’d been doing. Weasley noticed and has never let me live it down. Into the shower with you.”
“Then we really will be late. You know I’ve never been able to resist you when you’re naked and wet.”
“Perhaps we should let Longbottom know we’ll be a bit late?”
“Malfoy, you are positively diabolical.”
“You love me that way, and you know it.”
“I truly do.”
