hogwarts365 Prompt 357-Yield, Youth, Yellow
Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction created for fun and no profit has been made.
Notes: Randomness inspired by the prompts this week. I hope readers enjoy this little story. I had fun with it.
Summary: Al and Scorpius play matchmaker to their fathers.
“Dad! Hurry up! We have to go. Scorpius is waiting for me.”
“Of course. Just let me get some coffee.”
“I already put some in your travel mug with the permanent warming charm built in.”
“Merlin, I love you, Albus Severus Potter.”
“I know that. Now come on! Youth League Quidditch won’t play itself.”
“I yield to your faultless logic. You should’ve been a Ravenclaw.”
“I’m happy in Slytherin, y’know.”
“I know. You and Scorpius Malfoy are thick as thieves, aren’t you?”
“He’s my friend.”
“Close as you two are, he might as well be your brother.”
“Is that you trying to tell me something about you and Mister Malfoy?”
“What?! No! Draco? No.”
“You and mum are divorced, Dad. And you two are still friendly. I just assumed you two had busted up because you like guys. And you always look at Mister Malfoy like he’s something you want to eat.”
“You always have been much too observant for your own good. That’s somewhat disturbing.”
“So you do like him! Why not invite him over here for dinner after the quidditch game? I know he likes Chinese food, and they just opened up a new place in Diagon Alley. The Yellow Dragon, I think. They deliver.”
“You just have it all planned out, don’t you little cupid?”
“Dad. I just want you to be happy. It’s time you got off your rear and did something about your crush.”
“Hey! Who’s the parent here?”
“You are. And as my parent, it is your job to look after me properly. Which you cannot do if you’re constantly distracted by Draco Malfoy.”
“Okay, you win. We’ll invite them for dinner after the game. I don’t even know what Draco likes to eat.”
“Snow Peas and Shrimp with Spring Rolls. Scorpius told me.”
“Erm, okay then. I suppose that settles it. You and Scorpius would be dangerous if you used your powers for evil. It’s a good thing you only use them for match-making.”
‘Someone had to give you two a nudge. He likes you too, yeah?”
“Really?”
“Yes, now can we please go?”
“What do you mean he likes me? Draco? How?”
“Dad? Did your brain short-circuit?”
