“Breakfast is ready, love! Hurry and eat before it gets cold.”
“I’ll be down in just a minute, Harry! I need to finish writing my dream down in my journal.”
“You and your dream journals,” Harry grumbled fondly. “Don’t blame me if your breakfast is inedible by the time you’ve finished.”
“Are you a wizard or not, Harry? That’s why there are such things as warming charms.”
“Food kept under warming charms doesn’t taste as good. It loses flavour.”
“That’s a myth, and you know it. But, just to make you happy, I will come and eat while the food is warm. Now, if you’d kindly let me finish? I need to write the details down before I forget them.”
“Why is that so important to you?”
“People in my family have been known to have prophetic dreams. I’ve shown some aptitude for it, and I’d rather not take chances if it’s all the same to you.”
“That…actually makes sense to me, given my experiences with Voldemort.”
“Thank you. Grandfather Abraxis once had a dream that he was going to be cursed with an Iron Lungs hex. It saved his life.”
“Did you ever dream of me?”
“More like fantasised about you. I was enchanted with those gorgeous green eyes of yours from the first time we met.”
“You were such a git to me then.”
“I’ve learnt better since then, haven’t I? You were no angel yourself, Potter.”
“I suppose we’ve both grown up a bit then, haven’t we?”
“I would say so, yes.”
“Draco…would you ever possibly consider children?”
“You want to have a child with me?”
“Is that something you’d be open to, or no?”
“I’m afraid I’d be a horrible parent. I do have Lucius Malfoy’s genes, after all.”
“I’d be there to help you. You wouldn’t have to do it alone.”
“Maybe we should get a puppy first? As a bit of a training tool? Neither of us had the best parental figures.”
“That’s a fair point. If we can’t handle a puppy, a child would be out of the question. Parenting is a huge responsibility.”
“So, a puppy and then we consider having children?”
“Seems like a fair compromise.”
