eyes run clear.
Emptiness fills me.
Death lingers in
my thoughts
like the scent of
stale perfume.
He is gone.
Left me behind
like an empty shell-
Broken and jagged-
Resting on shifting sands.
Carry me away, to a place
where pain cannot hurt-please.
Blood flows from a self-made wound-
only a temporary peace.
I look up at you- and smile.
"I'm fine."
