A Fate Worse Than Twister

“Come on and play, Draco. This is so fun!”  Teddy exclaimed from his position on the mat.

“I’m sorry, Ted, but I don’t think my body is quite as flexible as yours is. I do believe I’ll pass,” Draco answered, eying the white mat with its colourful circles dubiously.

“Aww, Draco, you’re no fun,” Teddy whinged, sticking his lip out in a pout. “Harry’s playing with me.”

“Harry is almost as mature as you are, too, Ted,” Draco told the boy.

“Hey! I resent that remark, Malfoy. Are you here for a reason or did you just have a sudden desire to malign my character to my godson?” Harry asked.

“Oh, nothing so crass as all that, Harry,” Draco assured him, “I was hoping to escape dinner at the Manor. Father and mother always insist on bringing up the marriage contract with the Greengrasses. I told mother you needed help looking after Teddy. I hope you don’t mind.”

"Not at all.  But. you realize now you’re going to have to play with us. We did save you from an evening of dodging the marriage contract from Hell, after all,” Harry smirked.

“Yeah, you owe us, Draco. Astoria Greengrass always looks like she smells something unpleasant. Like that nasty stuff that comes out of Hugo’s nappies. Yuck.”

“I thought you liked Hugo,” Harry stated, seeming amused.

“Oh, I like him all right. But his nappies smell horrid. And Astoria Greengrass is horrid, too. She looks as if she’d like to get rid of me whenever we visit the Manor. You should tell Great Uncle Lucius that you like Harry instead of her. Harry is way better,” Teddy said, using the simple logic that only a six-year-old could.

“I agree, Teddy. But, your Uncle Lucius is scary sometimes,” Draco explained patiently.       

“Get Harry to go with you when you talk to him. Harry can stand up to anything. He defeated Moldy-farts,” Teddy replied, looking at Draco as if he were daft in the head.

Harry and Draco both laughed, looking at one another over Teddy’s small head.

“What do you say, Harry? Are you ready to formally meet my parents as my suitor?” Draco inquired.

“There’s no way to get out of it, is there?” Harry wondered sheepishly.

“No sir. I believe the great Teddy Lupin has spoken,” Draco responded with mock solemnity.

“On one condition, Draco,” Harry warned seriously.

“What, then?” Draco wanted to know.

“Play a game of Twister with me. Privately. I want to see just how flexible you really are.”

Teddy's a smart kid. Draco should listen to him. And he's much more flexible than he lets on. He just thinks Twister isn't dignified. lol
