I want to be better...

Hello, LJ! I'm still living. I've been being a bit antisocial lately. I want to hide under a rock some days. I'm still eating and sleeping. Life is making me a bit crazy at the moment but thank heaven I still have great friends. There are also a shit-ton of people from my past that I wish I could see. I really, really miss my nephews, and I very much need to get out of my house. Which doesn't feel like mine, even though technically it is. I don't really feel welcome here, but I don't feel like I belong anyplace else either. Not sure what to do about that, but yeah.

My birthday is coming up next month, which, as usual, is leading my to be more introspective than usual. I usually start lamenting about all the things I haven't accomplished yet, but as I am so fucking sick of negativity I could scream, I want to approach it differently this time around. So I thought I would list my accomplishments instead.

1  I have survived nearly 29 years on this planet
2. I graduated high school and college.
3. I've written poems and stories I'm proud of
4. I've been called smart and talented by people whose opinions I value very highly.
5. I have loved and been loved when I least expected to be
6. I have endured pain and betrayal
7. I try my best to do the best I can at whatever I choose to do.
