Summary: Harry has a bad day, but Draco makes it better.

Nowhere Else

Draco looked up as he heard his lover barging through the Floo. There was a storm in Harry’s eyes and a scowl marring his features.

“Rough day, Harry?”

Harry loosed a noise that was somewhere between a grunt a growl.

“Words, Harry. Use your words. I may be brilliant, but I’m not a Legilimens.”

“Fucking Pyle insisted on sending me on assignment. Over Christmas.”

“But Harry, It’s our first Christmas together. He can’t do that!”

“He did. Or tried to.”

“Tried to? What do you mean?”

“I told him he could shove the assignment up his arse and walked out. I resigned, Draco.”

“But, Harry, you love your job! You can’t quit.”

“Not as much as I love you. And it’s not like we need the money. I became an Auror to help people, but Pyle has me chasing papers and jumping through hoops, just so he can coo about being over Harry Potter. It’s not worth it to me anymore.”

“Are you sure, Harry?”

“Quite sure, love. I’ve had a horrible day. Please distract me?”

“I’ve got cocoa and cookies in the kitchen. They just came out of the oven.”

“That sounds lovely, but why don’t we go out to dinner before we have dessert?”

“Better yet, let’s stay in. We can light a fire and cuddle. I got some takeaway earlier.”

“You are an angel, Draco. And I can’t wait to spend Christmas with you.”

“Oh, I’m hardly an angel, Potter. You know that. But, I can’t wait to spend the holidays with you, either.”

“You always make me feel more cheerful Draco. The holiday wouldn’t be complete if I wasn’t with you. I feel so safe in your arms.”

“And now I have you all to myself for Christmas.”

“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.”
