Summary: Draco explains a magical custom when Harry’s chest monster rears its head.

More Than Sex

“Why is it that every time we have a party, I find you out here looking at stars?”

“Oh, Draco! Hello. I was escaping the burgeoning orgy our Valentine’s party seems to have turned into. Justin and Ernie were doing some rather inventive things with courgettes, and Neville was wrapped around them both like a pretzel. I didn’t know that position was even physically possible.”

“Many things are with magic, Harry. Are you blushing?”

“Maybe. It’s just I never realized that those three were so uninhibited. And, I thought Ernie and Justin loved each other, but neither of them seemed to mind Neville doing what he was doing. I got too hot inside, so I thought I’d clear my head. Think a bit, you know?”

“Knut for your thoughts?”

“Ernie and Justin have been together since Hogwarts, Draco.”

“Those two are rather attached at the hip, aren’t they?”

“I thought so.”

“You seem bothered, love. Why?”

“Isn’t it cheating if the two of them take on another lover?”

“Not if the three of them are consenting. And it clearly seems they are, so there’s no worry there. Even if there were, why does that bother you?”

“Would you ever want to do that one day? Bring someone else into the relationship? I was always taught that was wrong.”

“Polyamory is widely accepted in the magical world, Harry. But, you have to know I’d never do anything like that without discussing things with you first. And I would expect you do me the same courtesy.”

“I can’t imagine sharing you, Draco. I would always be wondering if I wasn’t satisfying enough in bed for you.”

“Polyamory’s more than sex. It means you are open to loving more than one individual. Everyone involved is aware of everyone else. “

“How do you know so much about this?”

“Why do you think Severus and my parents are so close?”

“I did not need that image.”

“You asked.”

“I did. Damn chest monster always gets me into trouble.”

“I love you and your chest monster. Only you.”

“Thank Merlin! There’s nothing wrong with loving more than one person, but I don’t think I could. You wear me out, Malfoy.“

Thank you! I was really glad to see that prompt this week. I think polyamory gets an unfairly bad rap most of the time, so I wanted to show that it is a positive thing and not something to be ashamed of. I'm so glad that came across for you. :)
