My nephew started school today. I have one word to say to that: Yikes! I don't think I was made to be a teacher. At least not a math teacher. I suck at it. Numbers are just not my strong point. The upside is that I'm not in tears this year. That's an improvement over last year's state of affairs. So...yay? I think? I don't know. I just hope I'm a better teacher this year than I was last year. At least this Monday is done.

Heh - I'm quite the opposite: I'm comfortable around numbers and I love playing around with them, I don't mind statistics at all (that's why I do well at project managements) and I'm a very logical person - but I wish I had more imagination! I look at all the wonderful art and stories people do and I'm like - I'm so one-sided. I take up one thing, bury my nose right into it and I don't know how to do anything else! I suppose even in my feeble attempts at writing my mind follows the logical path: you found something you like, follow it, don't stray. So I keep to the same pairing(s) and the same plots all over again. Damn. I wish I was more like you, more.... multi-faceted, I guess. :)
Good luck with teaching! Are you a private teacher or do you teach in school? How come people around the world have such short holidays - ours here are from June 25 to September 1 and for students even longer! :) #lazypeople

I'm helping to home school my oldest nephew. His school is online, so he comes to my house and we do his lessons here. I'm not as uncomfortable with math and numbers as I used to be growing up, but words are still more my medium of choice most of the time. I've always wished I was less emotional and more logical. I can be logical, but emotion comes more naturally to me. Thank you so much for leaving such a nice comment. :) Holidays have gotten shorter since I was in school. Lol
