Notes: This is my very first attempt at Harry/Ron. It is most definitely something I never expected I’d write, but these prompts just led me in that direction. Feel free to leave constructive feedback or concrit. Error correction is love.

Summary: Ron has a crush. So does Harry. Unfortunately, neither of them has a clue.

Someone Else’s Name

“Will you go with me to the party, Ron?”

“Harry, I can’t. She’ll be there.”

“Of course Hermione will be there. The party is at her parents’ summer home.”

“We haven’t spoken since the night she broke up with me.”

“Why did she break up with you? Neither of you’ve ever told me.”

“She caught me wanking and playing with a vibrator. I called out someone else’s name when I came. She called me a bastard and ran out.”

“May I ask whose name you called out?”

“I’m not drunk enough for this…I need more firewhiskey.”

“Is it that bad? Your face is redder than your hair.”

“It’s bad.”

“So bad you can’t tell your best friend? I thought we were mates.”

“We are. That’s why I can’t tell you. You’d hate me.”

“I could never hate you, Ron.”

“Don’t be so sure, Harry.”

“Try me. It’s not Malfoy, is it mate?”

“Eurgh…no. Just no.”

“Then who is it?”

‘I just can’t, Harry. I’m sorry.”

“You don’t trust me to keep a secret? Is that it?”

“No! It’s not that. Never that. I-I—“

“You what?”

“I—Merlin, this is so hard! I’m starting to sound like I belong in a bad Celestina Warbeck song.”

“All she writes are bad songs, Ron. Get to the point, would you?”

“I love you, all right. It’s you.”

“Hermione caught you wanking over me?”

“Go ahead and laugh. I know I’m ridiculous, Harry. You’d never look twice at me. You could have anyone you wanted.”

“Do you hear me laughing, Ron?”

“No.”

“Do you know why?”

“Because you’re my best mate and don’t want to hurt my feelings?”

“Ron, you are clueless sometimes, you know that?”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“That I love you, too, even if you are an insecure prat. Did you miss the part of this conversation where I asked you on a date?”

“Wait, you want me to come to Hermione’s party as your date?”

“What did you think I meant, Ron?”

“Not that.”

“Will you go with me?”

“On one condition.”

“What?”

“Kiss me like you mean it.”

“Gladly.”

“Gods, Harry. I feel like I’m dreaming.”

“Not a dream, Ron.”

“Promise?”

“Promise.”

:) know, I could see you winking from where I sit! ;) I don't diss other pairings, they just don't work for me and I'm aware that I'm the minority in not liking H/D - I was just happily embracing the fact that someone can ship Harry with someone other than Draco and not die of shock! ;)

Oh,don't bother, I'm sure he'll notice when he gets his first spider-shaped Howler who makes lovely hissing sounds. I'm sure he's reading Drarry with his arms wrapped around Draco, laughing at all those silly people who got it wrong.;) Stil waiting for apology... :)

Lavender, love - yeah, I know it's you, no one else calls him Won-Won - I strongly suggest you stop feeding Ron a love-potion or I may have to inform the ghost of our beloved Professor Snape that someone's been stealing from his Potions cabinet. And that, my darling, will not be a pretty sight.
Well, I put the lovely Bill up to be jealous, of course! I'm glad to see it worked. And in case he's not *quite* jealous enough - he's got another dragon-tamer of a brother... That's what you get when you ignore your Slytherin fan-club, Ronald! Howler is set to show up at 6 AM, darling... still time to apologize. :)

Ron would have nothing to fear with the big mean Slytherin here to protect him. *gives him a promising and inviting kiss on the cheek* Not in Mordor, not anywhere else. Come on here, darling, I can give you the world entire.;)
I know Ron doesn't read my stories (which is a good thing, cause they're really that bad) - he's not much of a reader and too busy doing what the stories says he does.:) But if he did, he'd know he's hardly ever a bottom - it says that explicitly! A Gryffindor, a bottom... what a ridiculous thought. They live high up in a tower, while we Slytherin's slyther in the dugeons - a Slytherin bottom is a natural! ;)

C'mon, come to the dark side, we've got cookies - you know you want to. Leave that boring Gryffindor to her illegal devices and come have fun with a certain sexy silver-eyed Slytherin. :)
