New Year's Resolutions
Jan. 1st, 2011 02:30 amOk, so in the spirit of the New Year, I want to take time to set down some resolutions here so that I can refer back to them later as needed. Problem is, I'm not sure what it is I'd really like to do with this opportunity. I'm feeling positive today, which feels really good. That's something I've not felt for a long while. My father is home from the hospital, which makes me feel better. I was really nervous about this, but so far, everything is just the way it's always been, except I think he's been a little nicer to me than usual. He tends to be a bit grumpy, as a general rule. I just hope this positivity keeps up, because it feels amazing. I know there will be obstacles in the future, but I'm feeling like things will be getting better as time goes on. (Knock on wood.)
Anyway, resolutions...so...here goes.
1). Focus on finding my own spiritual path, rather than simply swallowing what I'm told to believe.
2) Learn to value myself, both physically and in other ways. As human beings, I believe we all possess inherent value, so mistreating myself in any fashion is illogical and non-productive.
3) Learn to release negative thought patterns and replace them with positive, productive ones. This means adjusting the ways in which I deal with changes.
4) Be a less self-centered person.
5).Release the guilt I have about not being perfect enough.
I think those are some positive steps I could realistically take in the future to make my life better.I hope I can stick to them.
