Notes: I honestly have no idea where this came from. I usually do not write polyamorous pairings, but this demanded to be written. It seems kind of natural to me. I know there are those that would disagree, and that’s fine. All I ask is that if you do disagree, please do it in a respectful way so that I can actually give your argument due consideration. There is nothing explicit here, but in this fic, I see Ron, Harry, and Draco being in a polyamorous relationship. And yes, they have issues, but they love each other. If it’s not your cup of tea, don’t say you haven’t been warned. You are free to hit the back button with no hard feelings. I apologize if this is complete crap. Summary: Harry and Ron discuss their unique relationship issues while on a mission to Albania.

Three

“Should we really be scouting for the last of the Death Eaters in Albania? It’s dangerous.”

“Kingsley gave us our orders, Ron.”

“I hate to travel that far. What if our powers start malfunctioning because we’re too tired from Apparating so far?”

“Ron, it’s impossible. That’s just an urban legend that magical parents started to keep rowdy teenagers from globe-hopping once they learn to Apparate. Stop worrying.”

“That’s fine for you to say. You’re the Golden Boy with the super-powers and insanely gorgeous boyfriend. How is Malfoy, by the way? He wasn’t speaking to me.”

“Angry. He threatened to tie me to the bed when we get back home from this mission. He threatened to whip you if you let anything happen to either of us. And stop with the Golden Boy shit. You know I hate that. It’s not who I am.”

“I know, Harry. I’m just tired. And hungry. You know how I am when I get hungry.”

“Yes. You give Draco a run for his galleons in the ill-temper department.”

“Hey!”

“You said it first. I didn’t.”

Ron grumbled under his breath until Harry removed something from his rucksack.

“Here, Ron. Take part of this.”

“What is it?”

“It’s a granola bar. Eat it.”

“Oh, Harry! I could kiss you.”

“Draco would be so jealous. You know how possessive he is. Feel better now?”

“Yes. But I’ll feel even better when we get back home. There’s something evil here. Can’t you feel it?”

“Cast a protective charm. The sooner we get this done, the sooner we can go.”

“Harry, I’m glad you’re here with me.”

“Likewise, Ron.”

“I’m sorry for being so jealous. It’s just that you and Draco have gotten so close. I feel left out sometimes.”

“You’re part of this, Ron. Neither of us meant to make you feel neglected. We’ll talk with Draco when we get back, okay?”

“Okay. I don’t mean to whinge. Do you think Malfoy will make fun of me?”

“He makes fun of everyone, Ron. But it doesn’t mean he hates you. He likes the three of us in this together, whether he admits it to you or not.”

“You think so?”

“I know so.”

Oh, that was sweet! :) Why were you worried about offending anyone with this, it's not even explicit?! :) I wish you wrote more now, it makes me wonder how these three came to be. I wrote a few of triangles myself, but not consensual (more like cheating, and that's something to warn about!), so this definitely has interesting dynamics.
Are Harry and Draco lovers and Ron is like a third wheel, a friend with benefits? Is he accepted as equal in this relationship or Draco mainly tolerates him cause Harry wants him around? See, now I've got all this questions and you have to do a prequel or a sequel, I'm not even picky! :D

Thank you so much! I felt like I had to throw a warning in there because not everyone likes polyamory, I'm very glad you asked those questions. I'll likely do a prequel at some point and answer at least some of them if not all. I see the three of them as wanting to be equals in the relationship, but given the fact of Ron and Draco's past history, the two of them still haven't gotten past some of their issues as yet. And no need to apologise for throwing prompts at me. I'm flattered that you think well enough of my writing to want more of it. That's the best compliment someone could ever pay me. :)
