Notes: Written because I wanted to submit something else for Prompt 39. Discussions of death, and a little fluffiness. Sounds weird, but I hope you won’t be disappointed if you give it a chance.
Summary: Draco and Harry are in love, aren’t they?
Yes
“This music is wonderful. So peaceful. You play beautifully, Draco.”
“Father insisted I learn. Musical talent is a mark of refinement among Pureblood wizards.”
“I wish I had the talent for it. The only thing I’m capable of is turning the wireless on.”
“You have other talents, love. It was you who defeated the Dark Lord and saved us all.”
“That wasn’t talent, Draco. It was just luck. And I had plenty of help. Dumbledore spent months teaching me about Voldemort’s background. Did you know his paternal grandmother was a Muggle named Mary Riddle?”
“He wouldn’t have wanted that skeleton to come out of the family closet, would he? Particularly considering the emphasis he placed on blood purity.”
“He was a giant hypocrite of the highest order Blood purity, my eye. The man was more animal than human when he was done with his insanity. No one should want immortality. Death is the natural order of things.”
“That’s maudlin.”
“ Death is a part of life, Draco. It’s not necessarily an ending. How do we know it’s not a new beginning?”
“That’s a surprisingly deep supposition coming from you.”
“I’ve thought about it ever since I killed Voldemort. Dumbledore told me I had a chance to come back. Sometimes I wonder if I didn’t make the wrong decision.”
“Are you unhappy, Harry?”
“Not unhappy, no. I just wonder.”
“Choosing life isn’t a mistake. You deserve to live for yourself after everything you’ve sacrificed.”
“Saving everyone was worth any sacrifice.”
“What if the sacrifice was music? Would that be worth giving up?”
“Maybe. But, then there’d be no need for the piano. And it’s just the right spot for you to make love to me.”
“On the piano? You are such a deviant, Potter.”
“Without music, life would be a mistake. Songs help people fall in love.”
“Like us.”
“Yes.”
“You’re such a sap.”
“It takes one to know one.”
“Take that back.”
“I won’t.”
“Do you want a spanking?”
“Is that supposed to scare me?”
“I’ve created a monster. You are a kinky bastard.”
“And you love me?”
“Yes. You know I do.”
“Say it.”
“No. Love is just a word.”
“You love me.”
“Yes.”
