Those Fathers
“One, two, three, four, five. Five perfect little fingers. He looks like a little old man.”
“He does not. He’s adorable.”
“He is adorable, but he does look like a little old man. Harry is right.”
“Weasley, do not make me hex you. I don’t want to have to explain to my son why he no longer has an uncle when he grows up.”
“You know we’re right, Draco.”
“Shhh!!! Merlin help you two if you wake him up.”
“You’re one of those fathers aren’t you, Malfoy?”
“What are you on about, Weaselbee?”
“You’re going to be an overprotective father whose son has you wrapped around his little finger.”
“He already is. Look. Scorpius literally has his little hand wrapped around Draco’s finger. That’s so sweet.”
Ron sat back, regarding the sight in front of him with a smile.
“Looks like the Slytherin Prince’s heart of ice has finally melted.”
“Not melted. Just in storage. I suggest that the two of you hush before I hit you with a spell so strong, it will make the Goblin Rebellion seem like a tea party. Scorpius is trying to sleep.”
“You’re a wonderful father, Draco. Scorpius is fine and healthy.”
“Scorpius? What a name. The poor child.”
“It’s a good, strong name. Harry wanted to name him Albus Severus.”
“They were the two bravest men I ever knew.”
“Mate, I understand what you’re saying, but that name…oi! For once, I have to agree with the ferret.”
“Who knew there could be two miracles in such a short space of time?”
“Did I just agree with you?”
“Your face looks like you’ve swallowed stinksap.”
“I feel like I’ve swallowed stinksap. He is a right cute little sprog though. You two did good.”
“If you make me cry, I swear Weasley, I will floo call you the next time he has an upset stomach and make you change his nappy.”
“Well, I hate to do it, but I must be running now. I’ll see you blokes later.”
“You are evil, Draco.”
“Thank Merlin! I haven’t gone completely daft yet.”
“Merlin forbid. I love you just as you are.”
“And we’ll love our baby boy just as he is.”
“Always.”
