Sly Foxes
“Potter? You look as if you’ve seen a ghost. Did you get too close to Moody’s old Foe-glass?”
“I wish. I’d rather that than having to see Madam Pince and Filch snogging.”
“Oh, you poor thing. No wonder you look so done in. But, it could’ve been worse.”
“I don’t want to imagine how.”
“They could’ve been in a threesome with that foul feline of his.”
“I thought I just said I didn’t want to imagine that, Malfoy? Now, you owe me a drink,” Harry said with an emphatic shudder.
“You deserve one after seeing that,” Draco agreed, smiling in a way that made Harry’s stomach flutter.
“You know, your smile makes you look almost angelic, but you’re sly like a fox. I think I’d better skip that drink after all.”
“Scared, Potter?”
“You wish.”
“You needn’t fear for your virtue, O Great One. All I’ve ever thought about was being your friend, and all I ever wanted was for you to hold my hand. Thinking something doesn’t make it true. Wanting something doesn’t make it real,” Draco stated, his tone something just on the other side of wistful.
“We could try again. I left off thinking all Slytherins were evil when Snape saved my life. He is the bravest man I’ve ever known.”
“I don’t suggest you go around saying that too loudly. He may just hex you for your troubles.”
“I may be a Gryffindor, Mafoy, but a fool I’m not.”
“That remains to be seen. You still haven’t agreed to a drink with me.”
“Fine, I’ll go. But if I recall, I was the one who suggested the drink.”
“Then, you got scared and tried to talk your way out of it.”
“I am not scared.”
“Prove it. Have a drink with me. I promise I won’t poison it.”
“How do I know this isn’t some devious plan to get me drunk and take advantage?”
“Would that bother you?”
“Not as much as it feels like it should.”
“I think you like the idea. That’s what bothers you, isn’t it?”
“Must you analyze things to death? I’d really like that drink.”
“Say, please, Potter.”
“Please take me for that drink.”
“That’s better.

on 2015-10-10 07:09 am (UTC)And for your information, I would read anything that's well written (if it's not with a pairing that I consider too far fetched, like Hagrid/Giant Squid, that one killed me!), even if doesn't have Ron in it. This week I've read a Harry/Ginny one and utterly enjoyed it, Sirius/Remus, which was gorgeous, even another Drarry - and all of those, including yours, were good writing I loved.
It can't all be about Ron (or Hugo), I realize that and I try to keep an open mind. I don't really go actively looking for those fics, that's also true, but if they fall in my Inbox because they were written by my LJ friends, I will almost always give them the time of day and usually I'm not disappointed, but impressed - and hardly anyone writes any Ron these days! :) Good writing is good writing, and yours is on the list. :)
