Farewells
“Did you put a tracking spell on me, Malfoy?”
“I don’t need a tracking spell to follow you, Weasley. That orange hair of yours is like a lit torch.”
“Why are you here? You hate the beach. The sun might burn that porcelain skin of yours.”
“You must be one of the only wizards in the world who doesn’t know about sun-repellant charms. I will laugh my arse off when you burn.”
“Go ahead, I don’t care.”
“You just love to spoil all my fun. I can’t make fun of you when you’re like this. It would be like kicking a three-legged puppy.”
“I thought kicking puppies was in the Slytherin code of conduct?”
“You were clearly misinformed. Your wife sent me.”
“Shit. I’m in for it now.”
“Give your wife a bit of credit. You aren’t the only one who is skittish over her pregnancy.
“Damn it. She told you. I’m sorry you found out like that.”
“I suspected we wouldn’t last forever. The two of us are like fire and ice. We’d eventually end up destroying each other.”
“I think we almost did. No one gets me like you do. Not even Hermione. I just…don’t know if I can do it. Be a father. It’s too big.”
“You’ll do it. But you have to be there first I don’t know why you chose this place to think.”
“It’s beautiful at sunset. My mum always used to say that colours are the smile of nature. I suppose I was trying to cheer myself up.”
“Did it work?”
“What do you think?”
“You are in a foul mood, aren’t you?”
“Well spotted.”
“Stop. You knew we weren’t going to be forever.”
“I just wasn’t expecting it to hurt like this. We always fight, and I don’t even like you most of the time.”
“I don’t like you most of the time, either. That doesn’t mean you aren’t under my skin.”
“What do we do?’
‘We give each other one last goodbye fuck on the beach, and then we go home. You’re a Gryffindor. You can’t do anything else. I wouldn’t let you.”
“Trust you to have the answers for everything.”
“One of us has to.”

on 2015-11-09 08:27 am (UTC)Nice story twist, dear! Certainly having a child would affect their relationship greatly and it's possibly realistic that it would end it. I'm just kind of hoping they can't stay apart. :)
