Summary: Ron rescues Draco during an Auror assignment, but he wouldn’t call it friendship.

Could Have Been

“Ouch. Weasley, do kindly get off my foot! Why Shacklebolt wanted you as an undercover Auror, I’ll never know. You are an appallingly bad actor, and your face is far too innocent to be criminal.”

“Your arse would still be trapped in your Animagus form if not for me.”

“Must you keep rubbing that in? I’m quite aware I made a mistake in trusting Theodore Nott.”

“A mistake that nearly got us both killed when he force-fed you that poison. What in Merlin’s name were you thinking of to go haring off after him like that without someone watching your back? I thought you were smarter than that, ferret.”

‘Weasley, you make me regret the fact that I ever became an Animagus. You love to torment me, don’t you?”

“It is bloody irresistible to tease you. You just make such an adorable albino ferret, don’t you?”

“I’ll have you know that I’m a rare and enchanting specimen, Weasel king.”

“Don’t think I bloody well don’t know that, Malfoy. That’s why Nott wanted to capture you, yeah?”

"How was I to know that white albino ferret fur is a key component in virility potions? I’ve never had occasion to use such subterfuge. Malfoy’s have always been extremely well-endowed."

“Right. Well-endowed with bigheadedness, more like. I bet you have a tiny prick, don’t you, Malfoy?”

“I certainly do not have a tiny cock, Weasley. And it’s quite clear you had more than a glass of wine this evening. What on Earth would your beloved hero say?”

“Harry knows what my mission is, you overblown prat. You should be grateful I was there to save your life. Otherwise, it would’ve been the end of your tiny hide, wouldn’t it?"

“I could have gotten out on my own.”

“Yeah, in a month, right? You’d have been potion sludge at that stage, mate.”

“I’m not your mate, Weasley. We are work colleagues, nothing more."

“We’ve saved each other’s lives. Like it or not, we share a bond."

"I hate it. They say it’s better to walk with a friend in the dark than alone in the light. You and I were never friends Ronald.”

“But we could be."

Awww, this is entirely sweet! :D "Overblown prat", LOL! I know you must be crazy tired, so when you're not, please check the text for a few missing quotation marks, but apart from that, your boys' banter is as lovely as always. Ron is definitely reaching out with his clumsy sexual innuendo, but Draco will not be quite caught yet! :D I think after enough episodes like this, he will have to give in to Ron's (rather overt) sexual references, LOL! :D

Did I get them all fixed? I hope. I just banged this out quick today after we finished because I didn't want to be late posting. I'm so happy you enjoy these things. Draco seemed to want to snark at Ron today, and this was what followed from that. I'm the batty lady who seems to cart around dialogue in her head just waiting for the right time to put it to use. lol :) Anyway, I'm going to get offline, get some food, brush my teeth, and crash for a little while. I can't say the first day of 2016 hasn't been productive, can I? At least I got something out ;) I think my muses get more sexual when I haven't slept or something. I must investigate that at some point.

I think it's perfect now, yep! :) Of course I enjoy these two, they have the best banters on the planet and all that UST underneath... yeah, baby! I'm glad I got them all. I think my slash muses like it when I don't sleep because I tend not to self-censor so much then, and so I'm more likely to write whatever dialogue comes out without being so self-conscious of how people might respond to it. Thanks for the heads-up about the quotations. I really appreciate it. I may have to consider going on 4 hours sometimes and see what I write. lol
