Summary: Harry is stuck between a feuding Ron and Draco.
“Why, Harry?” Ron demanded.
“Ron, we’ve been over this before. Draco needs me,” Harry pointed out for the fifth time.
“So that has to mean that we can’t be partners? We had always planned to be partners when we joined the Aurors.” Ron complained.
“Let it go, Ronald. Potter just wasn’t destined to be your partner. The two of you have a history, but that’s the past. I’m his partner now.”
“You needn’t sound so smug about it, Malfoy. Harry only agreed to be your partner because you need someone to save your pasty arse. I don’t.”
“Ron, Draco, both of you shut up! Need I remind you that we are out of Hogwarts? We’re all adults now, so for Merlin’s sake, please act like it!”
“You see what you’ve done Weasley?! I’ve never heard Potter castigate anyone like that before. You must’ve really upset him.”
“What? Harry didn’t cut our willies off, Malfoy! What are you on about?” Ron asked, bewildered.
“I said castigate, you plonker, not castrate. Didn’t your wife teach you proper English? Or did you take speech lessons with Rubeus Hagrid?”
“Oi, what does Hagrid have to do with this?”
“You really are quite hopelessly clueless aren’t you?”
“One day, Ferret. One day your back will be turned, and I will hex you.”
“You will not. Potter would never forgive you if you hex me. You’re just jealous because you’ve been half in love with him since school, but he chose me for his partner.”
“You are an idiot, Malfoy! I’m married.”
“I didn’t hear you deny anything , did I? You’re still in love with him, aren’t you?”
“He is still in the room,” Harry interjected. “The pair of you are giving me a migraine. I’ll be at the Leaky when either one of you decides to act your age. Good night.”
“Harry! Wait! I’m sorry, yeah? I suppose Malfoy was right. I am a bit jealous that you chose him over me to be partners with.”
“And you love him. Admit it, Weasley.”
“He’s like a brother, Malfoy. Of course I love him, but not the same way you do.”
“Merlin, now I really need a drink,” Harry groaned.

on 2016-05-14 08:31 am (UTC)I guess Ron realises that once Harry is partners with Draco, their friendship/love/whatever is there will never be the same because that's what usually happens: they will no longer spend that much time together and I think he's right to expect that their friendship will change and probably not to the benefit of Ron. I can understand he's angry with Harry's choice, but I suppose if Ron is married, Harry has the right to find a "partner" in whichever meaning of the word as well and Ron has to learn how to accept it - or this friendship is not likely to survive. But given that this is Ron, I think Harry just made a choice from hell, LOL. :)
Nice little triangle you made here!
