Library Lockdown
“Why aren’t we out there fighting? There’s a war going on, and we’re all here with our nose stuck in smelly old books.”
“Or in your case, an old battered copy of Witch Weekly. Looking at the recipes, are you Weasley?”
“Oh, sod off Malfoy. I’m hungry. Why are you here?”
“We were locked in, Weaselbee. Or are you so thick that you can’t remember that?”
“I meant, why did you come here in the first place, Ferret? I should’ve known better than to chance getting friendly with a Slytherin.”
“Perhaps we ought to find you a dictionary, Weasley. Your definition of friendly leaves much to be desired.”
“Are you going to answer the question or not, Malfoy?”
“I was sent here to do some Potions research for Slughorn, since you are so curious. Why are you here, then? This seems more Granger’s domain.”
“I’m meant to be researching an essay for History of Magic, but there was only so much reading about the Goblin rebellions I could stand. Too bad we don’t have a way to get out of here. My wand is in the Tower.”
“Slughorn has mine. Some of the ingredients I was using interact with their magical cores.”
“I reckon we’re stuck here, then. I don’t know why they locked us in here. I wish we had weapons or something. I feel stranded without my wand.”
“Clearly, they want us to get along. I don’t see how they expect me to get on with you. You have no common sense.”
“I do too have common sense! Take that back.”

“You’re full of it, Malfoy. How could books help us out of here?”
“Weasley, we’re in a library filled with books on magic. Some of them about wandless spells. Some spells that can even help you craft weapons. For Merlin’s sake, do you ever use your brain?!”
“Why does it matter to you whether I use my brain or not?”
“Because, you idiot, I don’t like seeing people die! And you’re too thick to look after yourself.”

on 2016-12-03 12:54 am (UTC)Poor Ron, the library, LOL! I think only worse place for a lockdown for him would be the Potions class! :) Draco, however, seems to be much more comfortable in the environment and he seems to have taken upon himself to protect the silly Weasel (from himself, if need be).
But they're actually talking and not trying to punch each other's lights out, which is definitely an improvement in their relationship, LOL - though I wouldn't mind if they got a different kind of physical! *hint, hint!*
Leave them together long enough and they might grudgingly discover that they're not so very different after all - and that perhaps they only need to give each other a chance. And then things happen! *Thestral sighs happily* I do like it so when you write my boys! :D
