Conditions
“Potter, I thought you’d stopped stalking me when we were at Hogwarts. It appears I was mistaken.”
“I’m not stalking you, Malfoy. I’m keeping a promise I made to myself.”
“And what might that be, Potter? You’ve always hated me. You proved that in sixth year when you tried to kill me.”
“I wasn’t trying to kill you! Merlin, I still have nightmares about what I did to you. I’m no better than Voldemort was.”
“Well, that’s going a bit far, now isn’t it? You did die in order to save us all. And you actually possess a nose.”
Harry snorted with surprised laughter. “You have a point there.”
“So, what was the promise you made yourself?”
“I promised myself I’d try to make amends for scarring you.”
“You saved my life in the Fiendfyre. Consider that one debt paid in full. That was years ago. Why are you really here talking to me instead of joining in the celebration of Voldemort’s defeat?”
“I hate these bloody Ministry functions, Malfoy. And you are well fit. You looked lonely standing out here, so I made up my mind to come and talk to you.”
“We don’t get on, Potter. We never did.”
“I’d like to fix that, Malfoy.”
“On one condition.”
“What?”
“Call me Draco. Malfoy sounds like my father.”
