Changing Careers
“We need a mediwizard here now! Harry Potter is injured!”
“I can wait, coach. Merlin knows I’ve had my fair share of quidditch injuries, and this is hardly life-threatening.”
“Potter, that Bludger slammed into your knee hard. This could be the end of your career.”
“Playing quiddich has been great, but if I can’t do that anymore, I’ll be fine.”
“How can you say that, Potter? The money alone…”
“Making money isn’t hard in itself…What’s hard is earning it doing something worth devoting your life to.”
“Clearly, I need to be more selective when I choose my players.”
‘I’m sorry coach, but at the end of the day, quidditch is just a game.”
“I heard someone was in need of a mediwizard?”
“Malfoy! You—what are you doing in a hospital in France?”
“I’m a healer here.”
“I’m glad you were able to get a job, Malfoy.”
“Thank you. Can you rate your pain level for me on a scale of one to ten?"
“Eight.”
“What happened to that knee?”
“He took on a Bludger and nearly got his kneecap knocked off.”
“Ahh. Still pulling reckless stunts. Well, it looks like the bones have been splintered. I’ll have to remove them, and then I’ll get you a beaker of Skele-gro.”
“Merlin, it’s second year all over again."
“Don’t worry. I’m much better trained than that idiot Lockheart."
“Will he be able to play again, Healer Malfoy?”
“I don’t see any reason why he shouldn’t be able to. He will need a few weeks of physiotherapy on that knee before he’s fit, though."
“I don’t think I want to play anymore.”
“Potter, don’t do this to me now. The team needs you.”
“There is a reserve Seeker. He deserves a chance, coach.”
“I suppose you’d rather be doing something more meaningful with your life.”
“Maybe I’ll go into healing. Think you stand working with me?”
“Just so long as you don’t go throwing your famous name around the way Slughorn did with members of his old Slug Club.”
“Merlin forbid. I’d hex my own arse off first.”
“Don’t. It would be a waste of a perfectly fine specimen.”
“Blokes? I am still here, you realise.”
