“So, what would you like to drink, Weasley? I imagine after that long speech on the curtailment of house-elf rights, you must be quite parched.”
“I’m not quite sure what curtailment means, but I could definitely use a Firewhisky or two.”
“It’s just a fancy way of saying something is being restricted, that’s all.”
“Oh, that makes sense. Hermione was always the one better at using fancy words than me.”
“You have your own strengths. For instance, you are much better at strategy than Granger ever was.”
“That almost sounded like a compliment, Malfoy. I have to say, you handled yourself pretty well with her in the meeting. Not many people can stop her once she gets going. She started a group called S.P.E.W. in our third year. That’s when all this house-elf business started.”
“Did she realise that the acronym spelled ‘spew’?” Draco asked, amused.
“Oh, Merlin help us if any of us ever called it that! Have you ever been hit one of her hexes?”
“No, but I was hit with her fist. That was bad enough. I can’t imagine that her hexes would be any less powerful.”
“She’s very strong. I’m surprised she ever let you get away. If I had you, I’d tie you to my bed and keep you.”
“Who says I’d let you?”
“You’d let me. I’d feed you bacon every day. And anything else you liked.”
“I’d get as big as a house then, wouldn’t I?”
“I wouldn’t let that happen.”
“Malfoy. I think you may be a bit drunk.”
“What makes you say that?”
“You’d never talk to me like this if you were sober.”
“How do you know? We’ve never talked at all beyond work things and trading insults as kids.”
“Fair point, that.”
“I know.”
“Did you know you have a pretty mouth?”
“My mouth has been called many things, but pretty isn’t one of them.”
“It is. Beautiful even. I want a kiss.”
“Are you sure you aren’t the one who’s drunk? Maybe I ought to take you home. Is it a long journey from here?”
“We can Apparate.”
“Good. Weasley?”
“Yeah?”
“You’re cute when you’re smashed, you know that?”
