Summary: Harry wants to help Draco take revenge on Smith.
“Dinner sounds good. We can discuss how you intend to get back at Smith.”
“I’m not going back. No one wants me there anyway.”
“So you’re just going to let that idiot beat you down? Who are you and what have you done with Draco Malfoy?”
“I’m right here, Potter. I’ve just grown up, that’s all.”
“You can’t let Smith win, Draco. Otherwise, what the hell were we fighting for?”
“I’m just tired of it, Potter. I lost my taste for bucking authority when I was nearly killed for it. Call me a coward if you want. It wouldn’t be the first time.”
“You aren’t a coward, Malfoy, but you’ve got too cautious in your old age.”
“Old age?! Potter there isn’t even a two month gap between our birthdays!”
“Ah, there it is! I thought that might get your dander up. Now try directing some of that ire towards Smith.”
“That was very Slytherin of you, Potter, but why should I?”
“Someone needs to teach that buffoon a lesson, and I’d say you deserve revenge. He hasn’t stopped harassing you since you joined Auror training.”
“If you saw, why did you never say anything?”
“If you do good, people often accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. I didn’t want you to think I was after anything. I should’ve spoken up anyway. Smith has been a wanker since Hogwarts.”
“He is nothing if not consistent, I’ll give him that.”
“I’d really like to see you kick his arse in training one day.”
“If Shacklebolt even lets me back in the class, that is.”
“Oh, he will.”
“How do you know?”
“If he doesn’t, I’ll leave training too.”
“Potter, don’t be absurd. You can’t do that.”
“I can, and I will. I wouldn’t want to work for a place that would let you be treated that badly, especially when you’ve not anything wrong.”
“Are you even real? No one can be as good as you are.”
“I’m not. If I were, I’d have kicked his arse before now.”
“You’d have got in trouble, Potter.”
“I’m Harry. And getting in trouble for the right reasons is worth it.”
“Are you saying I’m worth it?”
“Yes, you are.”
