hogwarts365 Prompt 260- "5 year anniversary", “I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for.” ~Georgia O’Keeffe, Guest List
Notes: Inspired by the prompts. I hope readers enjoy.
Summary: Harry tries to plan an anniversary surprise.
“I can’t believe it’s our five year anniversary next week."
“I can’t believe you’ve been putting up with Malfoy’s high-maintenance arse for five years, mate.”
“He’s not that bad, Ron. And watch your mouth. I happen to love that arse of his. It’s positively delectable.”
“Enough of that, yeah? You’ll put me off my food.”
“Ron, you have the stomach of a goat. Nothing could put you off your food. Besides, you started it. You promised you’d try to be nice to Draco.”
“How can I be nice to someone who talked my best friend into taking up art over being an Auror with me?”
“Taking up art was my idea, Ron. I’d had more than enough of fighting by the time the war was over. I needed to heal. And I found that I could say things with colours and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way. Sometimes there just aren’t words enough."
“Yeah, I understand. Doesn’t mean I have to like it.”
“Are you my best friend or aren’t you?
“I am. Or was, until you glued yourself to the ferret.”
“Ron, I could always take you off the guest list for our party. “
“I’ll behave, Harry. I just miss you at work. Nothing’s been the same since you left, yeah? Smith’s been a right tosser.”
“What’s new there? He’s been that way since Hogwarts. Some leopards just won’t change their spots.”
“That’s what I said to you about Malfoy when you first got together.”
“Draco’s changed. He helped save my life. In more ways than one. He makes me happy.”
“I suppose that’s what really counts, isn’t it? I’m happy if you’re happy.”
“Thank you. This is really shaping up to be a good anniversary party. It wouldn’t have been the same without you.”
“I’m always here for you, mate. I may be a bit thick, but I’m not a total idiot. But if Malfoy hurts you, I will kill him.”
“That won’t be necessary, Weasley. I would never intentionally hurt Harry.”
“Draco! You were supposed to be working late.”
“We finished early. Having fun planning our party?”
“That was supposed to be a surprise!”
“Slytherin, love. Remember?”
