Why a new navigation strip?

bleedingangel84It makes NO sense to me. I liked the way it was before. It was easier to see, and worked well for my needs. Now the script is tiny-tiny. And I kinda miss the pencil. Ehh. Can we please have a rollback option? I'm of the opinion that new does not equal improved in this case.
