Summary: Ron tries to bring Harry and Draco back together.
“Harry, mate, I think it’s time you come home now.”
“That’s not your decision. I just couldn’t stay in the magical world anymore. I am just so bloody tired of being Harry-bloody- Potter.”
“Rosie misses her Uncle Harry.”
“Oh, now that’s just dirty. You know I can never resist Rose.”
“What do you think I am, new? I’ve known you since we were eleven years old. It’s not like you to just pick up and leave your family behind.”
“I couldn’t breathe there, Ron. Not after Draco—anyway, I just couldn’t stay.”
“I did always tell you Malfoy was a right git.”
“Does it make you feel better to know you were right about him?”
“I’m not so sure I was now.”
“Why? What happened?”
“He divorced her. About a month after you left.”
“Did I hear you correctly, or has the Floo impaired my ears?”
"Now are you ready to come home?”
“I can’t. Draco being divorced doesn’t make a difference. I just want to be left alone in peace.”
“He asked me where you’d gone, but I didn’t tell him anything.”
“Thanks, Ron. What did you say when he asked you?”
“I told him that people weren’t plants, that he ought not expect you to stay in one place waiting for him, especially when he was married to someone else. I told him you needed space to wander a bit.”
“What did he do then?”
“Oh, just the usual threatening to hex my balls off and fry them in hot oil. He really needs to get new material.”
“Ron, you’re unbelievable, you know that? I’ve really missed you.”
“I miss you, too. As your best friend, I’ve got to tell you something.”
“What?”
“Malfoy’s miserable without you. He only got married to have an heir, and as soon as they could do it without causing complete chaos, he was divorced.”
“I don’t care. I deserve better from the man who supposedly loved me. How do you know all this?”
“He brings Scorpius over for playdates with Rosie. Says he doesn’t want his son turning into a brat.”
“That’s…new.”
“I know. At least come home and talk to him.”
“All right, you win.”
