hogwarts365 Prompt 308- Combative, Grievous; “Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently.”― Maya Angelou
Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction created for fun and no profit has been made.
Notes: Part 6 in the series. Follows Unexpected Discoveries. I hope readers enjoy. This story has a mind of its own.
Summary: Ron and Draco discuss how to come clean after their elopement.
“It’s time to put on your Gryffindor pants, Draco.”
“You’re completely insane, Ronald. I don’t own Gryffindor pants.”
“It’s an expression. Just another way of saying you need to dig up some courage to face Astoria.”
“Did you see what I saw? I’m completely traumatised. I for one could’ve gone my whole life without seeing your sister eating out my betrothed.”
“There is an upside to that, y’know,” Ron pointed out.
“What’s the positive in that?”
“Well, she’s less likely to be combative with us if she’s just had an orgasm.”
“Fair point, that.”
“And she can’t really complain that you’ve done any sort of grievous wrong to her considering what she got up to with my sister.”
“That’s true. It’ll still haunt my nightmares, though. ”
“That’s why we ought to deal with it now. The sooner we deal with it, the sooner we can get the image out of our heads.”
“While I find that prospect extremely appealing, I’m not quite sure that I’m ready to face Astoria yet.”
“Do you regret what we did?”
“Not in the least. But I’m a Slytherin. Courage was never my strong point. That’s more of a Gryffindor thing.”
“Courage is the most important of all the virtues. Without it, you can’t practice any other virtue consistently.”
“I never claimed to be virtuous, Ronald. If I were, we wouldn’t be here together. I’d still be getting married to Astoria. Virtue is sometimes overrated.”
“You may be right.”
“I’m always right. It’s not my fault you keep forgetting that fact.”
“And modest as well, I see.”
“Modesty is also overrated.”
“Can we focus on the matter at hand, please? We still need to tell Astoria about us before the wedding.”
“And my parents. Father will be livid and mother will cry. She really wants grandchildren.”
“So does my mum. Why don’t we adopt? There are plenty of pureblood orphans.”
“You’d be willing to do that?”
“Eventually. I want some time alone with you first.”
“That sounds reasonable to me.”
“I hope your parents are so accepting.”
“What about your mum? You know she actually killed my aunt?”
“Oh, Merlin. Now I really want to hide.”
“I’m with you.”
