Summary: Harry goes in search of a quiet dinner and finds something he didn’t expect.
“Potter! Fancy seeing you here! Do you have a reservation?”
“I’m afraid I don’t. I was rather hoping the owner might take pity on me and give me a table in spite of that?”
“How many will be in your party this evening?”
“I’m all by my lonesome I’m afraid.”
“For Merlin’s sake, why would Harry Potter go to dinner alone?”
“Malfoy, sometimes I’m lonelier around people than I am when I’m alone. Does that even make sense?”
“Oddly enough, yes. I’ve felt that way myself more times than I can count. I think crowds can make loneliness worse because there’s an expectation that you shouldn’t feel lonely.”
“You do understand.”
Draco hummed a sound in acknowledgement. “I’ll see to your dinner myself, Potter. I can’t have word getting around that we gave Harry Potter substandard service, now can we?”
“You’re too kind.”
“Could I perhaps join you for a glass of wine later? If I wouldn’t be intruding?”
“I’d like that.”
Draco tipped his head towards Harry, a smile playing around his lips. “Let me put your order in, then. Don’t get too lonely without me.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it, Malfoy.”
