hogwarts365 Prompt 356 using Prompt 1-Luna Lovegood, Prompt 50-Religion, Prompt 100-Macchiato
Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction created for fun and no profit has been made.
Notes: Randomness I wrote in an attempt to make myself feel better. I hope it's not too shitty.
Summary: Harry goes to Draco for some comfort food.
“Malfoy, give me a double caramel macchiato, please. In fact, make it two. And one of those white chocolate raspberry scones with cream, please?”
“That’s a lot of sugar, Potter.”
“What are you, my dentist?”
“Hardly. Just don’t let Luna Lovegood catch you eating all that, or she’ll be off about the Rotfang Conspiracy again. You know Luna and her crackpot theories. They’re almost a religion with her.”
“Enough of that. I like Luna.”
“So do I. Doesn’t make her any less barmy.”
Harry grunted in acknowledgement and fell silent.
“I hope it makes you feel better. Potter. Though I’d like to know why you’re channeling Weaselbee’s appetite all of a sudden.”
“Ginny dumped me. There’s a reason they call it comfort food, right?”
“Tough luck, that. But I did always think you could do much better.”
“Thanks, I guess?”
‘With me, it was cookies.”
“What was cookies?”
“When I busted up with Pansy, I ate loads of chocolate chip cookies. They’ve always been my favourite."
“I’d have pegged you drowning your sorrows with scotch or some such thing.”
“Not in the slightest. I don’t drink the stuff at all. It reminds me of my father.”
“This macchiato is wonderful, Malfoy. You are very good at your job.”
“Why, thank you. It feels nice to accomplish something, even if it is only making exceptional coffees and baked goods for the Wizarding masses.”
“You’re welcome. Do you have a break coming up soon? I’d like to talk to you.”
“What can I do for you, Potter?”
“Well, you could call me Harry, seeing as you’re the reason Ginny finished with me.”
“How is that even possible?”
“She claims I’m obsessed with you.”
“Is she daft in the head? We hated each other all through school.”
“I know. You and your mum did save me, though. Why?”
“You were our best chance at escaping Voldemort for good. He was more evil than even I could tolerate.”
“I never did thank you for that.”
“No need. You saved us. That’s thanks enough.”
“When do you get off?”
“Three hours. Why?”
“Dinner?”
“With you?”
“Yes?”
“All right then. But don’t expect a kiss goodnight.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it.”
