Notes: I know this was supposed to be over. But what can I say? Seven years of habit is hard to break, so I started over at the beginning. I liked using these again, and I hope readers enjoy this little story.
Summary: Harry eavesdrops, Luna is wise, and Draco is tired of keeping secrets.
“Luna, you have such pretty hair. I wish I could make mine grow like yours.”
“You can. They make a special hair-care potion to help your hair grow long and wavy. “
“You know the answer to everything, don’t you?”
“No one knows the answer to everything, Draco.”
Luna didn’t miss the subtle wince as she said her friend’s birth name.
“I hate that name. Maybe I should be called Delilah. Or Daisy. Anything but Draco. It reminds me of my father.”
“What do you prefer to be called?”
“I think I rather like Delilah. She was powerful and sexy enough to bring Sampson down. That’s what I feel I am inside.”
“It suits you. “
“Thanks. I rather dread coming out. My family is hopelessly traditional. They think of gender and sex as interchangeable things when they aren’t.”
“They can learn.”
“Mother will love me no matter what, but Father? He always wanted a son.”
“You’re his child, regardless of your gender identity. He should realise that.”
“Can we change the subject, please? Gods, Potter looks positively delicious in quidditch gear, doesn’t he?”
“I can’t think of him that way. He’s a friend.”
“Well, I certainly do. Too bad he’ll never like me that way.”
“I’ve seen the way he stares at you. I think he likes what he sees.”
“Even with me wearing this dress?”
“Especially in that dress. He looks like he wants to devour you.”
“I don’t know whether I’m more aroused or terrified.”
“I hope it’s more the former.”
“Potter! Merlin, don’t scare me like that! Were you spying on us?”
“Spying? No. Why would you think that?”
“You forgot to take your Extendable Ear out.”
“I am so embarrassed!”
“Serves you right for eavesdropping.”
Could I please possibly take you to dinner?”
“Are you asking me out on a date?”
“I could be if you decide you’re amenable to that.”
“I think we both know I am. Don’t be coy, it doesn’t suit you. “
Would you like to split a dessert?”
“That sounds amazing. Do you eat tiramisu?”
“I love it.”
“I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”
“Or perhaps more?”
“We shall see.”
