Summary: Harry wants to deck the halls, but Draco would rather deck something else.
“Draco, wake up! Today is the day we decorate for Christmas!”
“Potter, you are much too cheerful and it’s far too early for this sort of carry-on. Can’t we wake up at a more reasonable hour if you insist on this foolishness?”
“I brought you coffee and some of those orange-cranberry scones you like.”
“All right, then. I’ll let you live, but only because you’re feeding and caffeinating me.”
“Thank you. Why are you so against decorating for Christmas?”
“If you must know, it’s residual childhood trauma. I once broke an irreplaceable Christmas ornament that had a great deal of sentimental value to mother, and she was so disappointed and upset that it rather spoilt any joy in decorating from then on. To this day, the thought of it makes my stomach clench with nerves.”
“I’m sorry, Draco. That’s so sad.”
“It is what it is. I won’t stop you decorating if you’d like, but please don’t ask me to participate. I know it’s meant to be fun, but the thought of it just makes me feel incredibly guilty. Even though it was years ago, it’s not something I’ve managed to shake off.”
“What if you decorated me instead of decking the halls?”
“What are you on about?”
“The twins made a line of warming edible body paint in holiday flavors. I was going to save them as part of your Christmas gifts, but I’ve been longing to test them out.”
“They won’t give me dragon scales this time will they? You know what happened the last time we tested out the twins' products.”
Harry winced at the memory, but then smiled. “They’ve guaranteed no adverse effects this time after I threatened to hex certain appendages from their bodies if it happened again.”
“Why, Harry, I didn’t know you had it in you. I must say, I’m rather proud of that.”
“George said to tell you you’ve been a horrible influence on me, but they still expect a full product review. What do you say?”
“I say it’s about time I start decking those halls…or should I say balls?”
“Merlin, Draco, that was so cheesy. But I’m glad to see you smiling again.”
“You always make me smile, Harry.”
“I’m glad. Should I wrap a bow around my cock?”
