Welcome to my journal! This is the place I come to rant about my life, fangirl over various people and fandoms, store random lists of things that pop into my brain and post my scribblings, be they fandom related or original. I'm much more a reader than a writer, but one of my biggest thrills is life is writing things that evoke responses in people. There is something magical to me about being able to find the right words to move someone. If I make you feel something or leave you with a picture in your mind because of what I write, then I believe I've accomplished my goal.
I adore all things related to Harry Potter. I found HP fan fiction in late 2006, and I haven't looked back since. I entered fandom initially in search of Draco and Hermione fan fiction, but it wasn't too long after that that I encountered the glorious pairing of Harry/Draco, and I was hooked ever since. I've written different pairings in fandom at any given time. I've written Draco/Hermione, Harry/Colin, Draco/Blaise and most recently, my own attempts at Harry/Draco, which I've enjoyed. Something about that pairing just works for me.
I'm forever and eternally grateful for the fandom, and the people I've met within my corner of it. They are some of the best, most accepting people I've had the privilege of knowing, and my life is better for having them in it. Knowing that there are so many others out there who share my interests makes me feel less isolated, which is a positive thing.
My journal entries are likely to be random and a bit scattered. I have my fics and drabbles tagged by title and according to word count. Anything under 1,000 words is tagged as a drabble, Anything over 1,000 gets a fic tag. And poems, if anyone is interested, are (of course) under a poem tag. Most entries are public, so please feel free to read and comment if you'd like to. I welcome feedback of all kinds, whether positive or negative. All I ask is that you phrase it in such a way that I can learn something from it, instead of saying: "This sucks balls. Write better!" If it sucks, tell me how it can be better. I do so hate to bore people with bad writing. Don't be afraid to criticize, just make it constructive, please.
Other than writing, music is one of my biggest passions. I enjoy all sorts of styles, and have enormous respect for musicians. My writing is often inspired and influenced by whatever songs I'm listening to at the time. I also like spinach and the color purple. Gloomy days make me happy. I tend to burn in the sun. I like dark chocolate and nearly anything with cream cheese. My idea of a perfect day is curling up with a good paperback and letting myself forget the world exists.
I love my friends, whether I've met them in person or not. I like being helpful and feeling needed. My pet hates are homophobia, racism and condescension. I strive to be polite to whomever I encounter, no matter how much they might annoy me. My dream is to one day write or otherwise create something that helps another person feel better about themselves.
If there is anything else you'd like to know, leave a comment and ask. I welcome new friends.
